Advice and help
As a church, we are always ready to offer spiritual help and counsel. Sometimes, however, there are times when we need specialist or specific advice or information on matters such as debt, benefits and the like. In such cases, we recommend the St Luke's Advice service. Here are their contact details:

For information about FOOD BANKS, we would recommend that you contact either the Hangleton and West Blatchington Food Bank or the Brighton & Hove City Mission, who run a Basics Bank, that includes food etc and other help. They can also refer you to other food banks nearer to hand if necessary.
HANGLETON & WEST BLATCHINGTON FOOD BANK
They aim to provide food to individuals and families who find themselves in crisis or urgent need. It is open every Wednesday between 12.30-2.30 p.m. at St George's Church Hall, Court Farm Road, Hove, BN3 7QR. It is run by volunteers from St. George's Catholic Church and St. Peter's Anglican church.
They offer a hot or cold drnk and a chat, with people who may be able to point you in the right direction for assistance. They then accompany you to collect a parcel from their range of tinned and dried goods. To receive a parcel you must be referred by a local agency such as Social Services, your GP, Church, School or Community Support organisation.

Off the Fence - Project Anti-freeze for rough sleepers
A Christian charity offering spiritual, practical and emotional support to the homeless in Brighton & Hove.
Our outreach teams are on the streets in the evenings seeking to meet the basic needs of those who are homeless and sleeping rough. We also open our drop in centre 4 days a week providing specific care, including help with housing, benefits and addiction issues.
This life-saving work is only possible because of the generosity of those who support us by giving their time, money and other gifts that are so desperately needed. Giving a warm pair of socks doesn’t cost much but makes a huge difference to someone who is homeless in Brighton & Hove.
Tel: 01273 774140
Our office is open weekdays 9am-5pm.
