In recent months we've been looking afresh at the Lord's prayer found in Matthew Chapter 6 verses 9 - 13. I wanted to create a congregational prayer that we could use time to time that built upon the core truths of the prayer. This is what developed. I am leaving out the graphics in case we should somehow infringe copyright, but hope the prayer itself is of help to you.
Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name.
When the world blasphemes it, when men revile it, we say, "Hallowed by be Your Name."
Your Kingdom Come.
When the world says "No" to your Kingdom rule on earth, and "No" to Your Kingdom rule in their lives.... we say, "Yes, Lord, Your Kingdom come."
Let Your Kingdom come in our cities.
Let Your Kingdom come in places where men rule by the gun.
Let Your Kingdom come when religious leaders preach hate!
Your will be done on earth as it is now done in heaven.
Lord, when men say "My will be done," when nations say, "Our will be done," we say, "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
Give us today our daily bread.
Lord, wherever there are those who hunger, help us to share with others. Give us today our daily bread, that they too, may be filled.
Forgive us our sins.
Lord, I can't blame others when I mess up. Forgive me my sins; and forgive us our sins.
As we forgive those who sin against us.
"Oh Lord, this is so hard to do. Grant us Your power and Your grace to forgive utterly and without condition and you have forgiven us. Forgive us today, and help us to forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation.
Help us lead neither ourselves nor others into temptation.
Deliver us from the evil one.
Deliver us from his entrapment.
Grant us Your shield of faith to quench the attacks of the evil one.
For the Kingdom, power and glory are Yours.
Now and forever,
Now and forever,
Now and forever, Amen.
